Vegas?

A couple of months ago (in December, I think..) my boyfriend had asked if I'd like to go to Las Vegas with him and a few friends. I said "Sure."

It seemed like one of those conversations in which you state you would like to go to a place, but are not entirely sure if or when you will go, but you're fairly certain it will not be in the immediate future. I underestimated the determination of this group of friends. A little while after I was asked if I would like to go, I was told that the hotel had been booked and I was to call off work for a week in March.

..Oh, We're going soon? Really soon?...Well I did say I'd like to go..

So, about a month ago, five of my friends and I all boarded a "The Vegas Chariot" and made our way cross country to Las Vegas, Nevada.

    "The Vegas Chariot"

Not the route we ended up taking.. It's a really long drive.

It was an unbelievably long amount of time to sit in any sort of chariot. The trek was made to seem longer thanks to the person that insisted on farting the entire way there. Though we did stop at a number of interesting places to see a number of interesting things on the way to Vegas (including the world's largest shuttlecocks, the St. Louis Arch, the Grand Canyon, and a very frightening and brief visit to the Cadillac Ranch in the dead of night).

How it might have looked.
What I saw.

Finally, after a three day journey through some of the strangest places and through some car troubles, we made it. I have never been to a place quite like Las Vegas; it was bright, noisy, there was an abundance of alcohol in the buildings and on the streets, and at all hours of the day or night there was something going on. In fact, we met an old man on the elevator one morning that had told us he hadn't been to bed yet (..he parties harder than I do, apparently). The casinos and hotels are large and very beautiful. Some of them look like palaces and others look like something out of a fairytale, and a lot of them are connected by shops. We were there for a week and by the end of our trip I was still unable to navigate from one casino or hotel to the next.

Las Vegas was amazing. The journey home was unbearable. The farts did not cease.

In the chariot. We met a few people there.
In front of the hotel.

I can see my house from up here.

Hello, Clyde!

This is Clyde.

I adopted him this past week. His previous owners say his mother was a french bulldog and his father was a chihuahua. I see the chihuahua, but I've yet to see much of his mother's side.. though to be honest, I'm not sure how small dogs function. Maybe he evolves to a burly-looking small dog at a higher level, much like a pokemon. My grandma's dogs have evolved into a muppet, and into one of those evil creatures you imagine when you hear Mussorgsky's  Night on Bald Mountain. I can only hope Clyde has a different fate.

Pictures

Mom moved into her new place a number of months ago, and though I was under the impression that all of my things had already been either given to me or pitched, Mom informed me that I had a lot of boxes that I needed to go through. I haven't actually gone through these boxes yet.. but I did take one home with me when I left Wooster this last time. It was full of old photos of family. I'm not going to post all of them at once, but here are a few.
